La Paz
La Paz is the capital of Baja California Sur, a Mexican state on the Baja California Peninsula. It’s known for its seafront Malecón promenade with beaches, parks, and art by Mexican and international artists. Many bars and restaurants overlook the water.

La Paz is a buzzing town in Baja California and the main gateway to the Sea of Cortez, which was named “The Aquarium of the World” by none other than Jacques Cousteau. It is a breathtaking part of the Pacific, situated between mainland Mexico and the Baja California peninsula. The sea stretches for nearly 1100 miles from Cabo San Lucas in the south almost to the US border in the north. It is almost as long as the west coast of the US, but the average width of the sea is only 50-75 miles.

Scuba diving in La Paz is incredible due to the Sea of Cortez’s rich biodiversity, offering interactions with playful sea lions at Los Islotes, majestic whale sharks, and even shipwrecks. It’s suitable for all levels, with clear, warm waters and UNESCO-protected sites like Espiritu Santo Island. It’s famous for unique encounters with mobula rays, hammerhead sharks, whales, and more. You never know what you’re going to see.
