Where are we going?
Viti Levu is the largest of the islands comprising the South Pacific nation of Fiji. Home to the capital city of Suva, as well as the majority of Fiji’s residents, it’s also the site of Fiji’s primary airport.
Volivoli Beach Resort is a dedicated Dive Resort on the Suncoast, in Viti Levu, and is widely recognized as Fiji’s Premier Dive Resort. It is owned and operated by the Darling family, 20+ year veterans of the area. Dive facilities are world-class and on-site. All accommodations have ocean views and lush tropical gardens. The Bligh Water is globally renowned for its amazing display of fish, critters, pelagic creatures and is the Soft Coral Capital of the World. Guests enjoy snorkeling, kayaking, paddle boarding, beach volleyball, fishing, village culture, waterfall trips, dolphin encounters, island discovery, and sunset cruises. Volivoli Beach Resort also has 5 on site-swimming pools, 3 bars, and 2 restaurants.
When are we going?
We’ll go during the best season for diving in Fiji, October 2026, during the dry season, when the water is clearest, visibility is excellent, seas are calm, and vibrant coral reefs abound.
The Diving
With over 90-incredible dive sites, in 9 different regions, accessible by RA Divers’ (the Volivoli in-house dive shop) modern fleet of purpose-built dive boats, everyday will be as exciting as the next. Boat trips can vary from 12-minutes to 50-minutes depending on sites, and with over 390 different species of coral, and over 2,300 fish species, a lifetime of diving will simply not be enough.
Sites like Breathtaker, Mellow Yellow, Black Magic Mountain, E-6, Golden Dreams, Dream Maker, Amazing Maze, Heaven’s Door, Mt Mutiny, and Pure Magic, and so many more, will have you smiling from ear to ear!
Just be warned, once you’ve experienced the Bligh Water with the amazing RA Divers team, you may just be spoiled for diving anywhere else!
For those MACRO enthusiasts, you can feel free to explore the 3 House Reefs, these are all ‘go-slow’ sites, and home to a range of pipefish, sea horses, frogfish, nudibranch, octopus, crustaceans, anemone, and so much more. They are super shallow, so you can spend as long as you like, and since we’re staying at Volivoli on a dive package these are available completely free-of-charge 24/7/365 – unlimited, that’s right, dive the 3 House Reefs whenever you wish.
The Hotel
We will spend 7 nights at the Volivoli Beach Resort. What started as a backpackers lodge in 2005 has evolved into the award-winning, four-star boutique resort Volivoli is today. As time has gone by the Resort has gone from strength to strength, growing into what is known today as Fiji’s Premier Dive Resort. With over 100 staff from the local villages and community working at the resort, many have been with the resort from the beginning. The staff are focused on sharing the true culture of Fijian hospitality as they welcome international guests from around the world to Volivoli Beach Resort, providing the guests with a unique and authentic experience of Fiji.
We’ll have a choice of room types (see pricing below) with all rooms complete with luxury amenities and 180-degree ocean views.
DATES AND FLIGHTS
The trip will take place from October 24th to 31st. This means that you’ll fly out of east coast US on Thursday afternoon, October 22nd, and will be back Saturday, October 31st.
American Airlines is the only domestic airline that partners with Fiji Airways, which is the only airline that flies to Fiji. Your flights should terminate at Nadi International Airport (NAN). On American, you can layover in Dallas/Fort Worth or Los Angeles. Staff have booked the following flights:
Thursday, October 22 (must leave on the 22nd to arrive on the 24th)
AA1051 departing ATL at 6:31 PM
AA7935 departing DFW at 10:50 PM
Saturday, October 31
AA7934 departing NAN at 9:15 PM
AA3212 departing DFW at 6:30 PM
Expect a total travel time of around 20 hours each way.
