Be Travel Ready
International Travel: Make sure your passport is valid for at least six months beyond your return date and check visa requirements for your destination. We strongly recommend purchasing travel insurance that includes dive coverage and medical evacuation. Take time to review local customs, currency, and entry requirements, and keep both digital and printed copies of important documents with you while traveling.
Flights: We recommend booking flights after your trip is confirmed and allowing plenty of time for connections, customs, and transfers. Be sure to review airline baggage policies, particularly for checked dive gear, as allowances vary by carrier.
Packing: Pack light, but don’t forget the essentials. Bring weather-appropriate clothing, swimwear, reef-safe sunscreen, medications, and personal items. A small day bag or dry bag, a reusable water bottle, and travel adapters can make your trip more comfortable. Always keep important items like documents, medications, and a change of clothes in your carry-on.
Gear: Personal dive gear, such as a mask, fins, a dive computer, and certification cards are highly recommended. Rental gear is often available, but availability and inclusions vary by destination. Ensure your equipment is serviced before travel, label all gear clearly, and consider bringing small spare parts.
All SCUBA students have the option to purchase gear at discounted prices. We offer this fantastic opportunity so each of our divers can own a few pieces or a full set of SCUBA gear.
Liveaboards: Liveaboard trips offer nonstop diving and a unique way to explore remote destinations. Space on board is limited, so pack efficiently and plan for casual, comfortable attire between dives. Electricity, Wi-Fi, and charging options may be limited depending on the vessel. Motion sickness remedies are recommended, even for experienced travelers. Be prepared for multiple dives per day and follow all crew and dive guide briefings to ensure a safe, enjoyable experience.
