SUMMARY:Belize Scuba Group Trip
DESCRIPTION:Book HereWe have planned an amazing trip to Belize\, a tropical paradise with easy access! WHERE ARE WE GOING? We are going to Ambergris Caye\, Belize’s largest island\, which is known for its water sports\, scuba diving and Caribbean beaches. Off the eastern shore\, the Belize Barrier Reef features famed snorkeling and dive sites such as the Hol Chan Marine Reserve\, with an abundance of sea life\, and the 400 feet-deep Great Blue Hole. The town of San Pedro (where we will be staying) is the island’s gateway and center for sailing and reef exploration. WHY Ambergris Caye\, Belize? Ambergris Caye hovers in a vacation sweet spot: just enough amenities to make it exciting\, but not so overdeveloped that you’re tripping over tourists. A mangrove swamp is the eye of this white beach island and golf carts are the main form of transportation along the sandy roads. Reef divers drool over the Belize Barrier Reef and the Blue Hole\, a 400-feet deep circle of limestone that teems with angelfish\, elkhorn coral\, cleaner shrimp and stalactites. Diving off Ramon’s in Ambergris Caye in January 2023THE DIVING Blessed with both the World’s Second Largest Barrier Reef\, at 186 miles\, and three of the four living atolls in the Western Hemisphere\, Belize is a Scuba Diver’s Paradise. Because of its spectacular dive sites\, Belize attracts divers from around the world\, and Ramon’s Village Divers’ dock is the perfect launching point for any underwater excursion. Ramon’s Village Divers is the oldest and most respected dive shop in all of Belize and employs only the best of “Belize’s Best” divers to care for their guests. From exploring Jacques Cousteau’s world-famous Blue Hole to enjoying the undersea wonders of Lighthouse Reef Atoll and the Turneffe Atoll\, to the incredible beauty of Hol Chan Marine Reserve\, you’ll never see anything like this again. Ramon’s Village Divers maintains a fleet of 14 boats ranging in size from 26 feet to 46 feet. These boats are used for dives along the Barrier Reef in the vicinity of Ambergris Caye and offshore trips to the Turneffe and Lighthouse Atoll\, where you can dive the Great Blue Hole. The diversity in boats allows them to go out with just a couple of divers or large groups. The close proximity of the Barrier Reef\, just over a quarter mile offshore\, allows them to choose from thirty or forty named sites within a five to fifteen minute boat ride from the Ramon’s dock. The dive shop at nightSince the dive sites are within minutes of the dock\, they return to the pier between dives to exchange scuba tanks and fulfill your surface interval requirement. This allows divers to choose any combination of dives each day. The dive sites offer both the novice and experienced diver incredible dive opportunities. The Blue Hole (an optional day trip)We’ll have 6 days of double tank dives and one night dive included (returning divers often claim this night dive as the best of their diving career). THE HOTEL Combine the lush vegetation\, Mayan influence\, Tahitian elements\, delicious food\, wonderful people\, excellent service\, great amenities\, comfortable accommodations\, superb location and the wide variety of entertainment options\, and it’s no wonder Ramon’s Village Resort in San Pedro on the island of Ambergris Caye has been the first choice of travelers to Belize since 1987. Styled after the Tahitian cottages on the Polynesian island of Bora Bora\, the cabanas are built from native materials by craftsmen utilizing the same skill and techniques the islanders used in the days of the great sailing ships. They’re not a concrete condo encompassed by concrete parking lots. Ramon’s Village is a sanctuary nestled in a tropical garden of Royal Palms\, bougainvillea\, lilies\, hibiscus and dozens of other types of tropical flora. Surrounded by the plant life are Mayan sculptures that provide a glimpse of the civilization that preceded in this Caribbean paradise. Pineapples on the BeachWe are booked for a 7-night\, breakfast-included plan. Pineapples on the Beach Restaurant\, where we will eat breakfast is also available for lunch and dinner but San Pedro boasts many varied and unique options along the beach or in town for dinner plans. Tropic Al’s\, the resort bar\, offers a hefty selection of smoothies for those wanting a lighter lunch between our morning dives and a relaxing afternoon. Tropic Al’s by the poolDATES AND FLIGHTS The trip will take place from May 30th to June 6th.
